Outpatient (OPD)

Consolata Cottage Hospital outpatient block

The hospital's main outpatient block in Chuka town.

Your first point of contact

For most patients, the Outpatient Department (OPD) is where a visit to Consolata Cottage Hospital begins — whether you have walked in with an urgent complaint or arrived for a scheduled follow-up.

Clinical officers and medical officers see patients on a walk-in and scheduled basis, and can refer you the same day to our laboratory, medical imaging, or one of our special clinics — ENT, Audiology, Dental, Physiotherapy — all on the same compound.

Care that starts with a conversation

Every outpatient visit begins with a proper clinical assessment — our staff take the time to examine, explain, and agree a plan with each patient before moving to tests or treatment.

What to expect at a Level 4B hospital

As a Level 4B hospital, our OPD is staffed to manage everything from minor ailments to ongoing chronic disease follow-up. Patients who need specialist care beyond our scope — for example complex surgery or intensive care — are stabilised and referred to a Level 5 hospital.
